Admiralty & Maritime Law - Our Admiralty & Maritime Practice advises clients on legal issues relating to shipping, marine cargo, and workers injured at sea, on navigable waters, or while working in harbor. We also represent clients in contract negotiations for shipping cargo and in resolving issues that result from performance of those contracts and have extensive expertise in the requirements of the Jones Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.

Alternative Dispute Resolution - Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is the process of resolving legal conflicts without going to trial. Our firm advises clients on advises clients on arbitration, international dispute resolution and mediation. We have extensive expertise in determining when ADR promotes the best interest of clients and meets their needs better than traditional litigation. We have substantial experience and training in ADR and routinely advise our clients on the legal consequences flowing from particular terms and conditions of all ADR options.

Business and Commercial Law - We provide a wide variety of services to our business clients from assisting in selecting the type of organizational entity under which to operate, preparation of agreements, sale and purchase of businesses, obtaining financing and funding for business operations, and employee relations, to dissolution.

Insurance Law - Our Insurance Law Practice concentrates in insurance regulatory matters and transactions involving insurance and reinsurance companies. We have served as counsel to major national and international companies. Our specific areas of expertise include regulatory issues, corporate matters, investments, securities, and banking matters; and reinsurance issues.

International Law - International law includes any type of law that affects people across national borders and involves not only treaty law between nations but also national law that affects international affairs. The focus of our firm's international law department is primarily on business and trade matters such as customs and trade regulation and combines the skills and experience of lawyers in our corporate, taxation, real estate, and litigation practice groups. Increased foreign investment has led to expansion of our international banking, taxation, and arbitration practices.

Litigation and Appeals - Our firm represents and advises clients who are or might become involved in a lawsuit or appeal as a result of a dispute, including prevention and settlement, in such areas as personal injury and employment claims, contract disputes, and family law and commercial matters.

Transportation Law - Our Transportation lawyers represent both individuals and corporate clients, such as airlines, railroads, trucking firms, and others involved in transporting passengers, goods, or both in tort and contract actions in private commerce as well as in compliance actions involving government regulatory agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Highway Administration, Federal Railroad Administration, Surface Transportation Board, and National Transportation Safety Board, to name a few.
